Spicers Press Release
23rd January 2008
Spicers raises almost £9,000
for Make-A-Wish
Spicers, as part of the 3M Stardust promotion,
is celebrating the success of its charity fundraising
Post-it® Notes promotion in which almost £9,000
has been raised. Sales linked to the promotion
raised money for Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK,
the charity that grants magical wishes to children
and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
“We had an initial target of £5,000
but dealers were so enthusiastic about this promotion
that we passed our target very quickly and have
now raised almost double what we were hoping for.
The amount will pay for about 1.5 wishes, which
is fantastic,” explains Jamie Boomer, Merchandising
Manager at Spicers.
The efforts of the OP industry are very much
appreciated by Make-A-Wish Foundation. Karen England,
Director of Fundraising said, “£9,000
is an excellent final total and more than we were
expecting, so we are really delighted. Make-A-Wish
hopes to grant around 600 magical wishes in 2008
and the support we receive from Spicers and 3M
will be a significant contribution towards this.”
3M donated 50p for every special pack of CanaryTM
Yellow Post-it® Notes purchased. As an extra
incentive, each special pack had with it a free
limited edition pack of star-shaped Post-it Notes.
