Spicers ~ Capping Furniture Consumer Delivery Charges

6th November 2002

Back in June, Spicers announced that if a customer asked Spicers to deliver furniture to a consumer, a charge of 10% of the order value would apply. This was to begin in January 2003.

This charge has now been reviewed in light of customer feedback, with customers preferring a fixed fee.
"Customers see that applying a charge is reasonable, but would like a 'cap' on the amount," said Graeme Loudain, Managing Director of Spicers Furniture Division. "So we will now make a fixed charge of £10 for delivery of any order of furniture or other unwieldy items to a consumer".
The £10 fee on furniture applies in addition to any other consumer delivery charges on non-furniture items.

Spicers point out that all the items that are affected are clearly highlighted in their 2003 catalogues, as they will carry a green product code.
In February, Spicers Furniture will operate from a new warehouse at Greenwich, which will create further opportunities to improve the quality of their furniture service.
